Resolve Forensics Achieves A2LA Forensic Accreditation
National accreditation under ISO/IEC 17025 reinforces Resolve Forensics’ commitment to scientific excellence, reliability, and integrity in forensic DNA testing–Delivering Accredited and Defensible Results for Criminal Investigations and Human Identification.

Salt Lake City, Utah – October 2025: Resolve Forensics, a forensic DNA laboratory specializing in difficult, degraded, and complex DNA cases, has officially received A2LA forensic accreditation in accordance with the recognized international standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017 general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories as well as A2LA R221 – specific requirements for Forensic Examination Accreditation Program – Testing and Calibration.
This national accreditation demonstrates Resolve Forensics’ technical competence and strict adherence to internationally recognized standards for forensic testing, quality assurance, and operational excellence.
“Achieving A2LA accreditation is a milestone that affirms the quality and reliability of every test result we deliver,” said Derek Cutler, Laboratory Director at Resolve Forensics. “To every client this affirms our pledge to always remain the neutral observer of the evidence. And to our law enforcement and investigative partners, it delivers measured confidence that each report we produce is scientifically validated, defensible in court, and backed by the highest standards of forensic practice. ”
A2LA (the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation) is one of the nation’s most respected accrediting bodies for forensic laboratories. The accreditation process includes a comprehensive review of technical procedures, analyst competency, method validation, equipment calibration, quality systems, and case documentation.
With this accreditation, Resolve Forensics strengthens its position as a trusted partner to law enforcement and investigative agencies nationwide, offering validated DNA testing for:
- Difficult, degraded, and limited DNA samples
- SNP profiling for Investigative Genetic Genealogy (IGG)
- Human identification in unidentified remains and cold cases
- Forensic casework DNA testing for criminal investigations
“Every case represents a chance to bring truth, direction, answers, and justice,” added Daniel Hellwig, CEO at Resolve Forensics. “A2LA forensic laboratory accreditation not only demonstrates our commitment to scientific integrity, it ensures that our processes meet the same standard of operational excellence required for courtroom testimony and investigative integrity.”
Resolve Forensics’ end-to-end validated workflow—from extraction through bioinformatics SNP analysis—provides a robust foundation for generating actionable leads in even the most challenging cases. The accreditation further underscores the laboratory’s commitment to maintaining impartiality, scientific transparency, and accountability in all aspects of forensic testing.
