Privacy Policy
Effective Date: June 2025
Resolve Forensics is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit our website https://resolveforensics.com or use our forensic laboratory services.
Important Note: Our forensic DNA testing process is designed only for identity and kinship analysis. It intentionally excludes and removes medical, health-related, or trait-predictive SNP data.
1- Information We May Collect
- Personal Information: Name, email, phone number, organization, billing details, and information you provide when contacting us or submitting a case inquiry.
- Case Information: Case identifiers, chain-of-custody documentation, and evidence-related details.
- Identify Based Genetic Information: If you submit DNA or biological samples, we generate forensic Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) profiles. After delivery of the SNP.txt profile to the client, Resolve Forensics does not retain or store any client SNP profiles for any future use. At a future time, if a client requests an additional copy of a DNA SNP profile previously delivered, a new test must be completed.
- Technical Information: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and usage data collected through cookies or similar technologies.
2- How We May Use Your Information
- To provide forensic DNA, toxicology, and pathology laboratory services.
- To generate forensic SNP profiles for investigative and genealogical purposes.
- To communicate with clients, partners, and authorized law enforcement agencies.
- To process payments and manage service accounts.
- To comply with legal, regulatory, accreditation, and chain-of-custody requirements.
- To improve our website, services, and security.
- We do not use forensic DNA profiles for medical, health, or insurance purposes.
3- How We May Share Information
We do not sell or rent any personal or genetic information. We may share information only when it has been requested and documented in writing by the owner of that information, and only to the parties that have been spelled out in that request.
4- Data Security
We employ administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect sensitive information, including encryption, access controls, secure storage, and audit trails. While no system is completely secure, we follow industry best practices and forensic standards to reduce risks. All case, sample, and genetic data will be input and delivered through an individual and secure JusticeTrax portal account.
5- Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal or business information.
- Restrict or object to certain types of processing.
- Request a copy of your contact or agency data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent where applicable.
- HIPAA (U.S.): While Resolve Forensics is not a healthcare provider, we safeguard DNA and case data with the same care applied under HIPAA-like standards for confidentiality.
